Download Database Applications

The dexgine applications are Client – Server applications that function using a relational database system backbone.

Before installation:

• Check the minimum requirements;
• Install one of the supported databases. You can find below links for download;
• Follow the Installation Instructions.

Each application has 2 installation kits:

• Server – With the application kit name like “application_name-version-operating_system”. For example: keygroupware-1.0.0-Windows.exe
• Client – with the application kit name like “application_name-version-operating_systemClient”. For example: keygroupware-1.0.0-WindowsClient.exe

NOTE:

• The server kit includes the application Client! If you will be testing the application on only one computer, you should only install the application Server; the application Client does not have to be installed.
• There will be single user applications delivered without a Client kit. Example: KeyBudget.

For simplicity, the two installation kits are delivered in a single file (.zip).

For the impatient, and those who did not install one of the recommended databases:

• Unzip the downloaded application;
• Right click “Run as Administrator” – to install the application server (the executable file that does not contain “Client” at the end of its name);
• Change the destination folder (installation folder) to: “C:\Application_Name”;
  Example: “C:\KeyBudget”.
• Select “Database Type” = SQLite! The database included in the installation kit;
• Click “Install”;
• Call: Start-AllPrograms “Application_Name” – “Application_Name”.
  Example: “Start-AllPrograms-KeyBudget-KeyBudget”;
  Ignore the menu entry: “Application_Name Server”!

Note:

• On first access, the application will take a little longer to start. Subsequently, it will start immediately.
• For network testing you must install one of the recommended databases (SQLite has a set of limitations)!
• In any case, if you decide to keep the application after the testing period, we strongly recommend that you use one of the accepted databases.

• Operating system: Microsoft Windows/ Windows Sever (Windows XP or more recent);
• Databases:
• Microsoft SQL Server (minimum Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 / minimum 2005 for Windows Vista or more recent);
• MySQL (minimum 5.1);
• PostgreSQL (minimum 8.0);
• SQLite – NOT RECOMMENDED for production environments. SQLite is included in the installation kit and shoul be used only for testing.
• Hardware: According to the Operating system and database requirements.

• Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005
• MySQL Community Server 5.1
• PostgreSQL

We recommend this database systems because the applications have been tested using them.
